Who we share your data with

As a general rule, we do not share your personal data with third parties without your consent. However, there are specific exceptions where data sharing may be necessary:

  • Debt Recovery: If you fail to pay amounts owed to us, we may engage a third-party debt recovery service. The lawful basis for this is Article 6(1)(f) – our legitimate interest in recovering debts.

  • Legal Requirements: In rare circumstances, we may be legally compelled to disclose your information in response to a court order or another legally binding directive. The lawful basis here is Article 6(1)(c) – compliance with a legal obligation.

  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance: We are legally obligated to carry out due diligence under AML regulations. This may require us to share your data with relevant supervisory bodies or law enforcement agencies. The lawful basis is Article 6(1)(c) – performance of a legal obligation.

  • Regulatory Authorities: Certain personal data may be shared with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and Companies House, where required by law. Again, the lawful basis is Article 6(1)(c) – compliance with legal obligations.

  • Internal Sharing: We may share your personal data within our group of companies to deliver services efficiently and ensure the highest quality of support.

Data processed by third parties on our behalf

We engage third-party service providers to assist in the processing of your personal data. This includes the use of cloud-based platforms for functions such as accounting, credit checking, video conferencing, and other services that support our accounting operations. A full list of these data processors is available upon request.

All third parties that process personal data on our behalf do so under a data processing agreement, as required by Article 28 of the UK GDPR. This ensures that your personal data is handled securely and in full compliance with UK GDPR requirements.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
